Before and After

Before

After
Well, I got a haircut on my birthday... What does it feel like? Awfully light headed... I've got an awful headache now... But it is cooling... Hahaha... Though I must say that it is different from my old hairstyle... Well, so now I'm 18... How does it feel? Old, hahaha... Can't be helped... Oh well...

Well...

Well, I got my first job ever at GSC... Apparently working at the Gold Class section... Yeah, Went for an interview today at like 2pm and it was so embarassing... My dad called my mum's phone halfway through and it was making such a racket... And the worse part was, I didn't know how to switch my mum's phone to silent (It was some touch screen phone thing)... So anyway, it was fortunate that I still got the job... So yeah, will have a training stint on Wednesday from 11am for 4 hours, then will start working on Thursday for RM 3.80 per hour... Not much I know, but its still something... However, one of the criteria was that I had to get my hair cut... Bugger it... So I was thinking, maybe I should get something like this?
Its like really short to what I had in mind but this is what I think would look pretty cool... So I might get something like this... Or if not, Jay Manuel's hairstyle... Wooo... I think he has a pretty awesome hairstyle... Haha... I wouldn't mind something like this...
But to do these requires a jelly like substance known as gel... Haha... Never used it before... So this is going to be interesting... Haha... I apologise to those who would prefer me to have long hair... And I bet some of you are rejoicing... *Ahem**Calvin*... But yeah, work comes first and if I have to cut it... I will...

Fa La La La La La La La La...

Woah, I didn't know there were so many 'La's in the song... Haha... Deck the halls with boughs of holly... Fa la la la la la la la la... Phew... 8 las... Well, Merry Christmas to all who I have not wished... Christmas this year has been pretty interesting... Considering I got pulled in the last minute to work on the computer during the Christmas production... Not to say I'm complaining... Just blast Sam for not being able to make it for the practices... Sigh... Anyway, two days before Christmas I had an inspiration on what I should give away for Christmas... Kinda weird really... I wasn't initially planning on giving anything away... I wanted to skip Christmas and not do anything... But the idea hit me when I was in bed on Tuesday... To make cards using toothpicks to write their names... So after 2 days of hard work... Going out with Gene Harn whom I haven't met to buy the cards (Killing two birds with one stone) on Wednesday... And staying up late till 2am to finish it off ( I don't think Ruth would have been pleased with that)... I got it done!!!

And it sorta look like this...
Woooo... Unfortunately, I gave all but two away before I could take pictures of it... So yeah... Haha... I only took one, but you get the idea... I used wire to make some other names... Names which were too long to make with toothpicks... It wouldn't fit on the card... :P

So anyway, after the Christmas production which went rather well (considering there were a few mistakes in the last practice), but I was quite pleased with the way everything turned out... Everyone did pretty good... Especially Ben Kane and Jeremy... Yeah... And I'll always remember baboons expressing aggressive behaviour... Woo... Hahaha...

After the service, gave away the cards... Got a really nice muffin from HEIDY... Thank you so much... It was really nice... Could I have the recipe for it? Hahaha... It was so good... I want more... More cards.... And yeah... That was it...

In the afternoon, went to my cousin's place for a Christmas lunch... Had like two plates of ham and turkey and chicken and salads and corn.... Hahaha... Then, we had some kind of search for your presents kind of thing... I was at a disadvantage, I had no idea what the layout of the house was... It was like my first time there compared to the others who had been there many times... So I had help... :) Well, I found it, and guess what I got? An electrical shaver!!! Woo... Now I don't have to worry about cutting myself when I shave... Haha...

Well, got back from that... Had a snooze... And boy, did I sleep... Slept for ages... Woke up and Christmas was over... It was now my sister's birthday... So yeah, Happy Birthday Jessica... You're now 14...
Guess you're legal now... Hahaha...

CF Christmas Party 08

Woohoo... My sixth blog post this month... I'm four more to double digits... Haha... Well, CF Christmas party took place on the 19th of December at Derrick's place... Firstly, thanks Jaclyn and her mom for taking me there... Otherwise I don't know how on earth I'm gonna get there... Thanks to Derrick as well for letting us use his place for this party... The place was huge... There was like a pool there... Haha... Well, I admit it was great fun just walking into the place... Some people didn't recognize me and for those who did... They wanted a picture the moment I walked past the gate... Haha... Well, it was fun... For the first half an hour we just sat around and fellowshiped... Then we could eat... Haha... the food was great, especially the chocolate cakey fudgey brownie thingy that was nice... Kudos to Daniel and Timothy Sim's maid!!! Haha... Yeah... It was nice... Choi even took it off the table so he could have it for himself... haha... Then, we had Icebreakes... First game, "Honey. Honey I Love You", which basically is a game which involves trying to make the opposite sex change their facial expression... I had a start and I don't even know how I got to start... Apparently Tze Lin's reason is that I was smiling... Who doesn't smile? Sheesh. I ask you... Anyway, I started and within 5 minutes I got Elena Ong to laugh... that's pretty good at my standards... Haha... Others took ages.... So much that I think the plot of the game was lost... Haha... Then we played Guess The Leader... That was fun... It had like a twist to the game... The game was to send out four people (Tian Xi, Johanan, Aaron and I)... And send them in again, one at a time to guess who the leader is (the person who jumps the highest and shouts the loudest)... We were sent back on one at a time to guess the leader and I was the last to get sent back in... Anyway, Tze Lin explain the game to me, to find the leader who is jumping the highest and shouts loudest... Anyway, I was given 3 chances... My first and second guess was wrong... But my third guess was right... I couldn't believe it!!! But here's where the first twist came in, There was no real leader... Whoever I picked the last would be leader... haha... Blast Jaclyn into making me believe... She was like : 'Oh, you're so good at this game, Ethan.' Bleh... Remind me never to trust her again... hahaha... Anyway, the person I picked (Andrea) was sent out and I was chosen to be the new leader because I was sporting... haha.... So Andrea came back in... Guessed wrongly the first 2 times and on the third time... No one jumped except for yours truly... Apparently that was where the second twist came in... To humiliate me... haha... It was so embarrasing... It was a set up I tell you... A set up... Lol... Anyway, let begones be begones... Put the past behind us and one day look behind and laugh at how red my face turned... So anyway, we carolled and we sang 'the police stole my car'... Haha... Good times... I can't believe the turnout of those who are expired as well... Such as Tze Yuen, Aaron, Ben Ji, Geoffrey, Kington, Sarah and so many more... Then we went off to fellowship for the rest of the night... The thing was... It was like the oldies were in one room and the newbies were in another... haha... Separated by the hallway... I believe that is allopatric speciation... Perhaps if we leave it long enough... Perhaps we might evolve? hahaha... At 11.30, I followed Ben Ji back... haha... And that was the end... I might some real cool people that day as well... Mostly afternoon sessioners... People like Cassandra, Hazel, Cherish, Alicia, Daniel, Timothy, etc... Haha... it was great... Good times.. Unfortunately, this may be my last CF Christmas party i'll be attending... So yeah... Memories...

My 10 Hour Flight Ordeal

So let's begin my journey back... I was dropped off at the airport by my uncle at 0900 hours... Bags packed and loaded in the boot, I said my final goodbyes to my aunt and cousins and went to the airport to be checked in... So there I was, waiting patiently for my friends to turn up while flipping through the books in the book store, occasionally checking the monitors in the lounge to ensure that my gate has not changed and that the flight was not delayed... Anyway, it was 1050 hours when we entered the boarding gate, another hour before our actual flight, just sitting around, chatting with my friends and being all excited that in 13 hours or so I'd be back in Malaysia... So, 1115 hours when we began boarding the plane... I can tell you now that my experiences with planes has never been good... I hate the feeling of walking into the plane, mentally feeling the change of pressure on your skull, like your skull is gonna explode... I hate taking off or landing, especially when your ears begin to hurt like crazy... I hate airplane food, just because it looks soggy and smells disgusting... Haha... Anyway, a 10 hour flight... Thankfully I was sitting quite close to my friends so I could always get out of my seat and walk to where he/she was sitting... Like I told my friend, you don't pay to sleep on the plane... You pay to use the in-flight entertainment and for the food... Haha... So that's what I did... For the whole 10 hours of flight from Christchurch, New Zealand to Singapore, I used the in-flight entertainment to the fullest... Watching movies I have never seen before such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Incredible Hulk, and Hellboy I... The rest of the time I spent either eating or playing random games on the entertainment units... Although I hate airplane food, I'll still eat it... So anyway, we had 2 meals on board the flight, lunch and some kind of snack to keep us going... For lunch, we had a choice of meatballs and linguini or fish and rice... Next to airplane food, I too despise fish... Haha... I gotta say this though, when it was my turn to be served, the air hostess told me that they were out of fish... Haha... That seemed to be my lucky day... I hate fish!!! So very much... Especially steamed fish... Lol... So yeah... However, I had an option during the snacks of chicken or beef... I had chicken and surprise surprise, it was actually really nice... Haha... That was basically my flight all the way to Singapore... The flight to KL was not too bad except that the plane was filled with koreans and they were making so much noise... Sigh... All I wanted was some peace and quiet... My head was about to burst from exhaustion and jet lag and I just couldn't take the noise anymore... haha... The 35 minute flight was soon over though and I could finlly prise myself away from those noisy bunch of people... So, I reached Malaysia and guess what, I find myself waiting at the airport for an hour and a half because my family were running late... So cheers Cheri for making the call to my dad for me, you were awesome, and now I owe you big time... Haha... I saw her online and she was the very first to welcome me to Malaysia... Haha... Oh well, now I'm back and making the most of life here... Haha... Oh one more thing, one thing I found real confusing was the fact that Singapore airlines uses calming music when they play their safety video... I mean, if you want people to pay attetion to the video, Why would you want to play calming music? That would only want to make people fall asleep... Haha...

Ghost Town

What did I do today? I watched 'Ghost Town'... And I've gotta say it's a brilliant movie to watch if you enjoy a spot of british humour... I tell you, Ricky Gervais is really really good... The movie reminds me of Ghost Whisperer... The one which Jennifer Love Hewitt stars in (which was in fact one of my favourite TV shows)... Thus, I quite enjoyed it... And being a weekday, there were only 9 people in the whole cinema hall... That was awesome... I went with 2 other friends and I gotta say we had a blast... Well, I did anyway, not sure about the other 2... Haha... But it was great fun... Sneaking in sushi, putting your legs on the chair in front of you... Lol... Good times...

Wedding Song...

The Corpse Bride, One of the best movies I've seen in my life
I have decided what my wedding song would be... If I ever have one... Anyone seen The Corpse Bride by Tim Burton? Its my new found fab... Haha... Yeah... I wanna use his wedding song which was played when the bride began walking down the stairs before going up to the land of the living to get married... The part goes like:

Oooohhhh... The bride is here
She's waited for this day for many a year
For this day, for this day
Our hopes and our pride
The bride is here
Here comes the bride (x3)
For this day, for this day will last forever
And all of her friends will work together
To make it a perfect day she's always dreamt
Our hopes and our pride
Our bride, Our lovely bride

We're gonna have a party like nobody's ever seen
The living in the Land Above won't know where they have been
The Land above... (The Land Above)
The party of... (The party of)
Our bride
Here comes the bride
On her glorious day of days
Up to the Land of the Living to celebrate

It is quite a cool song and I enjoy the movie thoroughly... I see why you enjoy it now Cheri... And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for introducing it to me... Haha... I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a musical and an animation as well... As for me, I liked both... Therefore, it was a double kill... Haha... But yep... That's my wedding all planned out... Pretty simplistic really... haha...

For the first time in my life I...

This is a post that was meant to be up a whole month ago... But let's just say I was lazy, and besides, I had exams to do... Anyways...

Labour weekend hits and my uncle's family decided to make a trip to Murchison which is a bit north of Christchurch and located on the west coast... Anyway, that was where my uncle's brother lives, on a farm-like area, with lots of hills and and a large field where livestock graze upon... Anyway, we left on the 24th of October, at 5.30 pm, to Murchison... It was a really long trip and when I mean long, it was really really long... Imagine sitting in between two young girls (which are my cousins) reaching across you and playing peekaboo with this monster of a boy in between... It was a laugh... But that didn't last long, and soon, questions like "Are we there yet?", or "How much longer, dad?" soon began popping up every 5 minutes... Haha... Oh well, we soon reached the farm where my uncle's bro was staying at like 10pm that night... And it was dark, really dark, pitch black in fact and the only light that guided us was a torchlight held by our host who came out to greet us... We were pretty tired by then so we set up camp and decided to head to bed early, though not before a meal of sausages fried in Tuimato sauce... Hmmm... That was unbelievably nice... Haha... But the shocking thing was that I found out I would be sleeping in the same room as the daughter of my uncle's brother (which is my cousin's cousin), not on the same bed mind you, but it was really uncomfortable... The little bro was there as well and I slept with my back to her so that was alright :)

Second day, 25th October
Woke up early, sneaked out before the girl woke up, washed up and just became a vegetable, sat in front of the TV, watching whatever was on... Then the brother of the girl woke up, and decided to let me have a go at taking pot shots at a target... And me, who has never shot a gun in his entire 17 years and 10 months of his life, had a go at 3 different guns : A 44 magnum, a 427, and a shotgun... Haha... It was pretty cool... I enjoyed every moment of it... I could feel the power I held in my hands, and the temporary deafness I obtained after a shot went off... It was loud... Anyway... After that, we went to kill a sheep... Oh yes we did... And I have pictures to prove it... And I had the honour of ripping its head off... Sounds pretty gory ae? But hey, by eating meat, we encourage the killing of animals... So, I don't think I was doing anything wrong... Just surviving... So that took a while, the killing... And we spent the rest of the day lazing around, watching a movie and just bumming around until dinner... The meals there are terrific... For the first night we had a beef stew which was just delicious... Haha... We stayed up a bit longer, and then decided to go to bed... But blast it all, the younger brother decided to sleep in the lounge that night with his grandma who came to visit that weekend... So it was just the two of us in the room... Hmm... Interesting... Haha...

Third day, 26th October
Went down to Nelson (an hours drive from Murchison), and spent the whole day visiting my uncle's family... His grandparents, his sister, his mom, and his other brother... Oh, and we visited the college he went to when he was young... Kinda hard to imagine an adult once being young... it just doesn't seem right somehow... Haha... So that was all we did... Went to the beach, kicked the footy around, had tea, and headed back to Murchison for dinner which happened to be a pork roast!!! Yum... Haha... That was like one of the nicest meal I had since I've been in NZ... I seriously pigged out then... But then, I pig out quite a lot during meal times... Maybe its because the meals are just so nice... So then we ate, chit chat, and went to bed... Oh, I had a bit of vodka that day too... But shhhh, don't tell anybody...

Fourth Day, 27th of October
Woke up early and went pig hunting!!! Woohoo... 5 of us went : Me, my uncle, my uncle's bro, his daughter, and her younger brother... It was great fun, though it didn't last long because the dogs went off and chased a goat off a cliff (which broke its neck and died), my uncle's bro reckons that whatever pig that may have been on the hills were probably scared off by the barks now... So we head back down... But, we got lost... Haha... So we made a new trail for ourselves... I tell you, the hills here don't have a proper path to which you follow, we had to hack our way through... grabbing branches for support and slipping once in a while... But the view from the top was really cool... Didn't have pictures though cause a camera would be a burden in these hills... Haha... So when we finally made it back, we went off to the farmers market where things were so cheap!!! The only regret I had was that I didn't have enough money to but stuff... Haha... Oh well, never mind... After that, we headed back, watched cloverfield, laze around, had the cat digging all his 16-20 claws into my leg as it sat on me waiting for me to stroke it... Haha... And we had a BBQ for dinner that night!!! And it was great, so much food and not enough stomach space to finish it all... Sigh... I stuffed myself silly that night... Haha... Oh well...

Last day, 28th October
Packed up, went back home... Not much to say really... Haha...

So anyway, there was a list of firsts that holidays :
1. First time i went to the west coast of NZ
2. First time I slept in the same room with another teenage girl
3. First time I drank vodka
4. First time I shot a gun
5. First time I killed something living, besides insects
6.First time I went pig hunting
7. First time I held a heart in my hands (it was so warm)
8.First time I went to stay on a farm

Lol... That pretty much summed up my holiday... And now for some pictures :)

Trying to rip the head off...

Uncle, let me have a go at it please...

Sheep in a paddock does not flock together...
Max, the biggest dog of all...
Oh yeah, the power is mine... Muahaha...
The pig hunters... Stone, Pepper, and another one (forgot the name)
Biscuit, the playful one
Picture of the hills
Where I slept, with the girl on the right, and the boy on the left...
And the cat who loves to scratch me...
Well, I apologise for not having many photos as the photos were mostly taken on the last day... Haha... Oh well, that was my holidays at Murchison...
